The words 'heather starting to come out on the moors' conjures up images of majestic, desolate beauty in my minds eye. Please take the camera.

Beautiful picture, Evanne.

Everything seems to be rather late here in the North-East of England. It's been a fairly lousy summer weatherwise so far this year -- though nowhere near as bad as last (some parts of the country suffered extreme flooding; the storms here, where I live, with the worst in decades but, thankfully, we are at least on high ground so didn't suffer the way some did.)

I did notice last week, however, that the heather was starting to come out on the moors. Might head out that way today and see how it's coming along. Always a beautiful, breathtaking sight.
