Everything seems to be rather late here in the North-East of England. It’s been a fairly lousy summer weatherwise so far this year — though nowhere near as bad as last (some parts of the country suffered extreme flooding; the storms here, where I live, with the worst in decades but, thankfully, we are at least on high ground so didn’t suffer the way some did.)

I did notice last week, however, that the heather was starting to come out on the moors. Might head out that way today and see how it’s coming along. Always a beautiful, breathtaking sight.
