WIP Wednesday

February 11, 2009 | WIP Wednesday

I have a question for all of my clever readers.  When crafting a deliciously  tortured protagonist’s  background, it’s common to have a defining incident in their past.

In my reading, it is even more common for the heroes to have accepted blame for tragedies they couldn’t possible have prevented.

Which brings me to my question, what if the story’s main character was truly at fault?  Let’s make this tougher, making their mistake fatal for another, innocent, person.   Does this make the hero fatally unsympathetic?
