Good on so many levels…

Pure randomness, some philosophy, some mundane–
1) The sacks I use for garbage are now scented “To help retard unpleasant odors”. Okay, I can understand the thinking behind the product development department’s choice. Garbage is not a pleasant fragrance. But the scent chosen is strange and I can’t decided whether it’s an improvement over garbage or not.
2) There are lots of pluses to living alone, but it has forced me to notice my own slobby habits. If there are fingerprints on the fridge it had to have been me. I forget to change my shoes and track in dirt. And sometimes I don’t hang things up neatly. Frankly, I’m horrified at the evidence of my slovenly ways–I thought I was a tidy person.
3) I always have a list of things I want to do, but haven’t gotten to.
4) I admire most people whose talents are completely different from mine.
5) Understanding something is simply the first step, putting it into practice is a whole ‘nother matter.
6) The problem with those super cool, ultra low-rider jeans is when they get even slightly loose they’re constantly in danger of sliding off. Stopping to hitch up my pants every few steps bothers me, but not enough to do without the cute jeans.
One of my girlfriends mentioned she was rereading her favorite mysteries. All of my friends read (no surprise there)
But not everyone rereads.
I do. There’s comfort in a sure thing, revisiting a favorite tale is like catching up with an old friend. Yes, I’ve heard their stories before, but their voice is very dear and I like listening to the old stories again.
Then there are books that very different on a second read than they were the first time I turned the pages, because I’ve changed.
Children love to hear the same story over and over again, partly for comfort, but partly it’s a way of learning.
Of course writers read their own work over and over and over. Maybe we’re just a tiny bit weird.
Do you reread your favorites?
With the holiday story barely half-done, Swampy, the contrary muse, is already whispering about the next story.
Here are the lead contenders (titles subject to change):
1) Enyo Chronicles III: Calyxia’s Rescue
2) Demon Worlds II: untitled
3) Treeland Pack Tales III: A Trace of Laura
4) Demons and Dragons III: untitled
Feel free to vote for your favorites, since I love all them you might well decided the next project!
I’m creeping toward the mid-point of the new Christmas story. While fairly much on schedule, it feels behind and much too slow.
Maybe because I compare this part of the process with the exciting first part of the story that seems to flow from my fingertips effortlessly.
Even on poky, not-enough-progress, days writing erotic romance is still my dream job.
How’s your day going?
Literary Nymphs Reviewed Camille’s Capture They said: “I immediately fell in love with all three characters and cared deeply for them. The author is as good at writing space dogfights and firefights as she is at sex scenes and angst-ridden conversations. There is also plenty of humor and enough misunderstandings worthy of a Shakespearean comedy. The high tech and magic combination was also put together seamlessly and believably. And we are never allowed to forget that there is an entire universe outside the characters’ world, giving a vast, galactic feel worthy of golden age space operas.”
