The Writing Life

A Scarlet Past, like the rest of my titles, is a tale I wrote just for me. I fell in love with Fergus and Vivian while creating A Taste of Scarlet. Eventually succumbed to his demands that I write their romance even knowing pre-World War II erotic romances aren’t exactly hot sellers.

Then something lovely happened, once in a while a reader came across their story and fell in love. Last week this happened again.

Lynleo left a review on All Romance for A Scarlet Past. “A lovely WWII era, thirties noir romance. The author did her research, and the slang and fashions and tech level are right on without being overpowering, flawlessly drawing you into the time period.”

To write the best, truest fiction possible, I can’t allow myself to be swayed by public opinion. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want every book I write to find an audience that falls in love with characters and the story. Of course I do, why else bother to write, polish, and publish the adventures in my head?

A heartfelt thank you to every reader who’s taken a chance on one of my books and special love to those who’ve left reviews.
