Real life

May 6, 2010 | blogging,Real life

Note to self: file under ever expanding category of stuff I don’t understand.

Several blogs I visited fairly regularly ceased. The usual explanations were proffered; a lack of time and we’ve said everything worth saying.

Hmmm. Maybe I’m missing something vital here. Have tweeting, instant updating, and social networks replaced blogs?

It’s as if someone proclaimed poetry made novels obsolete. I’m left scratching that spot behind my ear and wondering why.

Share the love, is shorter better?

Six-pack Saturday

April 17, 2010 | blogging,Six-Pack Saturday

Today marks 1,000 dangerously sexy blog posts. So here’s six reasons why I blog:

1) Habit–like you all haven’t figured out I’m a routine kinda of girl.

2) Shameless self-promotion–hey, it’s why I’m here. I write erotic romances. Blogs are terrific for posting new cover art, reviews, excerpts, all those bookish tidbits readers and writers enjoy.

3) I like writing–blogs are great for whining about the current WIP, the excitement of a new story, the wonderful ego crushing book I just read, and all the ordinary bits of real life that are funny or sad or entertaining

4) Craft improvement–all writing helps make me a better writer–blogging definitely counts.

5) Keeps me touch with friends–like the social networking sites–a blog offers an open door and friendly invitation to both old and new friends

6) Learning, when I write about craft, or rave about an author I adore, the hard-taught lessons are reinforced in my scattered thoughts, which need all the help I can give them.

Thanks for being a fan, you’re the best. :D

Life in the secret garden

June 4, 2009 | blogging,Life in the secret garden

If you’re here for a garden fix, you can hook up here

While my enthusiasm for gardening remains unchecked, I’ve decided to make this blog strictly about writing…

WIP Wednesday

June 3, 2009 | blogging,WIP Wednesday

One more blog about the website, and then next week I’ll get back to whining about writing.

I’m eliminating the garden posts. I haven’t lost interest in the garden, but it doesn’t relate to writing or books or romance–other than they are all things that I’m passionate about.

Of course, there’s a lot of sex going on in the garden, but other than for botanists and biologists and fellow gardeners its not really a site for voyeurs. For those missing their garden fix you can go here for your garden hook up. ;)

When I have the time, I’ll expand the new garden only blog to include more useful links, garden in process pics, and the like.

What do you all think? Is more focused a good thing or do you like the hodgepodge approach?

Dangerously Sexy Stories Debut

October 31, 2008 | blogging

I’ve been working with a designer on a new look for the blog.  She highly recommended WordPress.

As per usual, I’m tired of waiting.  This time my impatience has to do with launching the fancy new design.

And a basic personality dichotomy.   I love dramatic, intense, and passionate.  I also love clean, simple, and elegant.  The two are damn hard to combine.  The difficulty factor doesn’t stop me from trying.

The old blog is a black faced dramatic theme.  You can see it here

This one is my attempt at clean and fresh, which I’m playing with until the professional version is complete.  Who knows, I could get addicted to blogging…
