From the story currently interfering with my concentration. :ermm:

A cold steady drizzle dripped down Camillia Worth’s neck. At least the icy rain kept her awake while she waved for a taxi. Normally, rainy or not, a trip to Paris was a keenly anticipated treat. Not this time. Not even the joy of coming home unclenched the fist of fear in her stomach. She was cold, soggy, jet-lagged, and worried sick.

From the next Demon Hunter book, A Very Demon Halloween!

“Didn’t you learn anything about actions and consequences from watching my scene?” Okay, she was going the wrong direction again and definitely playing with fire, but she didn’t want to stop. Rebel fingers curled into his forearm. Impulsively, she decided to exact her own penalty. She used her free arm to tug him closer, and then stretched up to steal a kiss.

His lips were impossibly soft and so hot her mouth burned.

Six Sentence Saturday

October 20, 2012 | Six sentence Saturday

The first six sentences from the next demon hunter book, A Very Demon Halloween!

Duec moved as if he owned La Ceinture Noire. He did. Humans and others alike made way for him, averting their gazes from his usual pissed-off glower. Automatic respect came from those who worked for him, owed him, or simply recognized a dangerous predator. Taller than anyone else in the club, Duec emanated natural power from a wide, hard body that would have gotten him the same reaction anywhere. He was beyond dominant on into awesome territory.

Another peek at Duec, this time from A Very Demon Valentines.

“When did you last sleep?” Duec studied him as he waited for an answer.

The boss had closed his notebook computer while Tey was playing space cadet inside his own fucked-up head. He shrugged. “A few days.”

“When did you quit fucking subs?”

Today’s snippet is From a A Very Demon Christmas is where we first meet Duec. His story is finally told in A Very Demon Halloween.

“Be here by six for mingling, then a demo scene around seven. Auction starts at eight.” Duec lifted the receiver and hit a pre-programmed number, then glanced back at Colin. “Black tie.”

Great, a full penguin suit—his least favorite. “Okay if I roll up my sleeves for the demo?”

Duec flipped him off.

From the second Seduction Mission, coming someday, I hope:

Marcus found Tori crouched in a corner of the tent. Her pictures hadn’t prepared him for the real woman. She was insanely small and fragile and her clothes had been ripped to scraps.

“Stay back.” She curled a puffy, split lip to hiss at him.

It truly hurt him just to look at her.

From Slave Market, book two of the new Demons and Dragons collection:

The woman was way too jumpy. No one would believe she was a willing submissive. Taking an untrained, rebellious slave into the sinplex was like dragging fresh meat in front of starving Krinegi drones. There’d be no chance of finding the missing princess if they had to fight off every male in the infamous pleasure palace. To say nothing of his dragon’s constant roar of outrage. It didn’t help that his normal enthusiastic arousal was now a pounding demand.

From Ranin Seven, book one of the Demons and Dragons series:

Diablo was wrapped around the imperial pilot and he wasn’t fighting her.

Impossible missions–Gunn’s specialty. Still he had to try.

Fear trickled down his spine in the form of cold sweat. The imperial pilot was the emperor’s tool and a human female. And she already had her scheming claws deep into his brother.

Gunn was in for the fight of his life.

A tiny snippet from Dalila’s Choice:

Dexon spied the small person hidden behind his brother instantly. Crouching down to show a less threatening presence, he tried to project reassurance. How big and rough they must seem to something so small and fine. Peering around his brother’s stalwart torso he scanned the alien’s heart-shaped face, large eyes, smooth skin and telltale swell of hip and breast.

“Gods be praised, it’s a woman,” he huffed.

“Dalila,” Kelvar growled, correcting him.

From the new and improved Wicked Pleasure (formerly known as Pirate Rules):

Ryder crossed his arms and glowered. “Are you ready to begin the game?”

The grated words rippled through Zara ripe with erotic consequences she wasn’t at all certain she could handle. Any tenderness he’d felt for her had vanished. She summoned her best bored tone. “Pirate and captive?”
