The author takes you on a adventurous ride full of excitement, sexy dragons, demons and steamy lovemaking. Though it also contains forms of BDSM, it is a light form which won’t unnerve most readers. It also contains ménages… I would recommend everyone who loves science fiction mixed with paranormal romance to check this book out. The entire review can be read here

I love the hard-hitting action that carried through the story. The sex was plentiful and really good. The dialogue was great, working well with the characters and did not fall into excessive Jamaican accents to distract the reader. Support characters play a major role in the book, but readers need to pay attention to who is who and what is going on with them. This is a fast-paced book, and I enjoyed seeing what was going to happen next.

Here’s a snippet of Duec from A Very Demon Valentines.

“Sit.” His voice was harsh and louder than necessary—an understandable side effect of his near-total deafness. Miranda held up her left palm and then slowly lowered it in their agreed-upon signal to soften his delivery.

Most demons had super-sensitive hearing. Duec wasn’t interested in advertising his hearing loss, not even to the other demon hunters. She understood and did all that she could to support his illusion that there was nothing wrong with his hearing. But she didn’t agree with his choice. His hunters respected him, loved him, and their loyalty had nothing to do with his ability to hear pins drop on plush carpeting.

He nodded—a curt bob—in acknowledgement of her gesture and softened his delivery. “Report.”

For several minutes, she recapped club business and the progress on construction of the new civilian medical clinic he was funding. His lip-reading skill was phenomenal. She kept her face angled toward him but stubbornly continued to sign as she spoke.

“Not necessary.” He waved toward her flying fingers.

She blushed but raised her chin. “Your hearing is not improving. Learning to sign is not the same thing as an admission of defeat. It’s no different than messaging or texting—just another communication tool.”

She peeked through her lashes and realized she might as well have saved her breath. Duec had swiveled to face the view of downtown Treeland, effectively silencing her argument.

Last month I unpublished A Scarlet Past. I considered recovering it with something like this:

Then enriching and reediting the story. But I decided the effort is unlikely to improve reader enthusiasm. The talented Stella Price did the original cover. While the redhead doesn’t instantly evoke thoughts of the 1940′s or werewolves, I don’t think the cover is the problem.

The combination of WWII backdrop and erotic paranormal romance isn’t a popular sub-genre. There may be solid reasons for readers disinterest. My enthusiasm for Fergus and Vivien’s story remains.

While there is always a lead romantic male, the others also love the heroine, and in this story the alpha is Batzorg (and he’s yummy). While all the men are awesome, they each have a personality trait that harmonizes with aspects of Minka’s personality. That makes all the men her ideal mate. So as the story progresses so does her feelings for the warriors chosen to protect her.

Even though A Very Demon Valentines Day is the second in the Demon Hunters series it can stand alone. I had no trouble following the plot or the characters. I enjoyed watching Tey fall hard for Miranda. It was interesting to see all the ways he tried to convince himself that isn’t what he wanted when they were destined to be together. They were each others’ true match. I think Miranda was a strong demon to go up against Tey since she faced rejection from him at every turn. I like that she was able to breech his walls. She was able to get beyond what he showed the rest of the world…

This is exactly how writing feels, except the I’m juggling hot, but very unreasonable alpha males and I’m already behind schedule.

The contemporary romance is with my amazing Ellora’s Cave editor. I’m working furiously on the ground work for Duec’s story, tentatively titled A Very Demon Halloween for the wonderful Loose Id editor.

As soon as the demon hunter book is complete, I race back to the future and another Mech Triad adventure, the second Seduction Mission begins where Warrors’ Woman ended. The book after that depends on who wins the cage match…

Bitten By Paranormal Romance reviewed Warriors” Woman Book One of the Seduction Mission Since writing is all about sharing my imaginary friends with you, this is my favorite part:

I adored the characters in this story. Minka is strong and compassionate and the guys are all Alphas but capable of deep emotions. I would loved to have learned more about the battle raging in the future between the Founders and Restorers (the baddies) but since this is the first in a series I will hold on to the hope that future additions will reveal more. I look forward to checking out more of Evanne Lorraine’s titles :)
